Strategies for Supporting Students With Autism
in Daily Transitions

Presented by Barbara T. Doyle, MS

Districts strive to comply with LRE requirements and want success for all students. In this 90-minute audio conference, your school teams will discover practical, step-by-step procedures to help students of any age with autism spectrum disorders as they transition between activities, staff, building areas and programs.

Join clinical consultant Barbara T. Doyle as she reveals strategies to guide these students throughout their educational day and scholastic careers. You and your staff will develop a greater understanding of the neurology of transition issues, and learn teaming strategies, interpersonal supports and teaching techniques, including the use of visual/spatial/concrete materials to improve students’ abilities to move smoothly through their day.

You'll also discover how to:

        •    Plan reactive strategies to minimize the impact of transition issues on
             other students and faculty

        •    Describe transition issues accurately to enable teams to develop
             successful supports

        •    Create individualized transition supports

        •    Use interpersonal staff/student communication to enhance transitions

        •    Apply motivation systems to help students learn transition skills

Plus, time for Q&A gives you the chance to ask Ms. Doyle your specific questions.
